There Are Many Different Sorts Of Hankook Tires For Many Different Uses

By Kylie S. McCutcheon

If you go into your local tire shop to search for a brand new set of Hankook tires, you will quite likely notice that there are very many different types of them available for many different vehicles and many different purposes. There are different wheels out there that are engineered to offer various levels of protection and handling on the open road, and then there are some that cater specifically to various types of motorsports. The fact of the matter is that there is more than just one core type of tire on the market nowadays and dozens of different reasons why you would choose one or another.

There's no way to deny that the number one type of tire is the most basic variety that you would put on the car you drive every single day to get you from your home to your job or school or to run all your important errands. Though they probably all look very similar to you or any common motorist, the truth is that even these most basic tires come with their own distinct differences from one model to the next and can only take you so many places. You might go shopping for new wheels based on the quality of their construction and the number of miles they are capable of traveling, but you would also want to pay attention to how their tread design would allow your vehicle to handle in various weather and road situations.

A lot of people are very interested in high speed racing, and the only way one would be able to compete in one of those races is if they had a special kind of tread that is able to withstand those incredible speeds. There are a bunch of reasons why your basic tire just isn't right for racing around the track at high speeds, such as the fact that they are not made to be durable enough to hold up to the heat and would come apart after a short while. The kind of tire you would put on a racecar is designed specifically to hold up to the various types of abuse associated with that particular sport and stick to the roadway in such a way that gives racers superior handling and rear wheel acceleration.

Another sport that requires a special type of tread is any kind of off road sport, because these sports call for maximum durability and special kind of grip. The treads you would find on a rally racer are surprisingly thick so that they can go deep enough into the dirt track to bypass the loose dirt and get something solid that can help push the vehicle forward. This same principle applies to mud riding, but for mud races, the treads should be a whole lot thicker than the most basic dirt treads.

You should also notice that there are a number of tire types that are manufactured for very specific types of vehicles that are made for very particular uses, both for business and for pleasure. It's no wonder that there are so many Goodyear tires on the market when you actually stop to think of all the different vehicles and driving conditions they have to cater to.
