What Would You Do If You Are Involved In A Car Accident Arlington?

By Charlie Hernandez

Maybe you have seen many news that show fatal accidents. The good news is, they are not always true; the majority of people involved in car accidents survive! However, many people are still unaware of things that they should do when they are in the middle of car accident. It is not difficult actually, but everyone must know because the Car Accident Arlington can happen anytime anywhere in your area.

The very first thing that you must do is assessing your physical condition. Is there any injury? Is your head knocked? If so, is there any blood flowing from your nose, or do you hear a ringing sound? If the answer is yes, then you must not move except you really have to. Those are the signs that you might have a very serious injury. Call 911 with your mobile phone if you have it and tell them about the accident. If you could, try to locate your position.

After you finish measuring your condition, and it turns out that you are okay, check the passengers in your vehicle. Help them if they need it. You probably have to help them get out of the car, stop the bleeding, and speak to them. If you see fire in the car, evacuate everyone as soon as possible because fire might burn everyone even if the fuel tank does not explode. Another danger is that passengers might be suffocated due to the fumes.

If all of your passengers are saved, try to look at people in other vehicles. They might need help from you. If they do need your help, do the same thing as you did to the people in your own car.

If you do not have your cell phone to call 911, get someone who has it. You can borrow it or make the phone owner call the emergency number.

If there are any fainting people, position them to lie down while waiting for help to come.

Always remember that someone who got shock is very susceptible to some non-fatal injuries. They might be passing out. Laying them down is an effective way to prevent them to be passing out, hence minimize the risk of further injuries that the person might get when he go unconscious.

If you are able, you probably need to move your car to avoid it from getting hit by other vehicles. But most importantly, be aware of the oncoming traffic. Many people who can stand the accident were becoming the victim of the traffic a moment after the accident.

Although maybe the accident causes no injury and you can still drive your car, you'll still have to wait to the police. Mostly this is for insurance coverage purposes, though several states have a particular law about it. Nonetheless, you must not leave the scene until the police come. Understand that you might have to do the breathalyzer test.

While waiting, you might exchange your insurance information with other drivers' that are involved in the accident. This will be needed for the insurance company to determine who must be liable and pay the damages. Finally, make sure that you write the name and the phone number of the drivers.
